The mission of the Parks and Recreation Department is to help maintain the quality of life in the community of Reading by providing a wide variety of leisure activities, special events, facilities and services that encourage health, fitness, relaxation, enjoyment, cultural enrichment and learning for all age groups, as well as providing opportunities for community involvement.
